IRIDOLOGY - HERBAL MEDICINE - NUTRITION - LIFESTYLE COUNSELLING - MASSAGE - REIKI - FLOWER ESSENCES

My interest and studies in natural therapies began many years ago after I became aware of the failure of conventional medicine to successfully deal with a wide range of health problems. I initially trained in massage and aromatherapy, and have worked in this field for the last 10 years. In 2001 I graduated with a Bachelor of Naturopathy from Southern Cross University, NSW. The degree provided a strong background in medical sciences, as well as focusing on natural therapies such as nutrition, herbal medicine and homeopathy. I have also completed further studies included reiki, Australian bush flower essences, iridology, Traditional Chinese Medicine and auric healing.
In my practice, I treat each person as a unique individual, and draw from a wide range of therapies to find a suitable approach to treatment for that person. My last few years of practice has been a wonderful experience as I have dealt with a many different people and health conditions. I am passionate about the naturopathic approach to health, as it is empowering to the individual. It is based on the principle that the body has considerable powers to heal itself, so the role of the naturopath is to guide people through this process with the aid of non-toxic therapies, and to empower them with the knowledge to maintain optimal health.
Naturopathy addresses underlying causes of illness, including both physical and emotional ones, so that health problems may be effectively cured in the long term. All aspects of a person’s well-being are considered important for healing to occur, not just isolated symptoms, which conventional medicine tends to focus on.
In a naturopathic consultation, a detailed history of the person is taken in a supportive and confidential environment, so that an understanding is gained of all factors relevant to the person’s health. Diagnostic tools such as iridology (iris diagnosis) may be used to pinpoint possible problem areas for the person. Treatment may incorporate one or a number of the above therapies, depending on the person’s needs and preferences.
